OUR MISSION
Gaia Power Technologies, Inc. was conceived through a clear understanding of the deficiencies
in today's power supply landscape, and founded out of a drive to exploit the great opportunities
inherent in these deficiencies. Gaia will do so by leveraging its expertise in electricity storage
applications to provide high quality distributed electrical power and storage systems.
Gaia has received significant funding from the New York State Energy Research and Development
Authority (NYSERDA) and is in the process of expanding its team and operations. Company headquarters
are in New York, New York.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to be the unprecedented leader in providing high quality distributed electrical power and
storage systems that improve the efficiency of energy distribution and that simultaneously reduce overall
monetary and environmental costs for our customers.
As the digital and electricity-reliant economy expands, the demand for clean, reliable power will grow
with it, by as much as 45% over the next 20 years according to the U.S. Department of Energy estimates.
However, as dramatically demonstrated by the blackout of 2003, the current power grid infrastructure
is incapable of providing the power quality and energy reliability required today by the nation's economy.
Therefore, without a significant change in the energy provision landscape, the result will be an unimaginable
strain on an already overtaxed electricity infrastructure.
Fortunately, part of this anticipated change has been started by the first stages of deregulation as
well as by technological improvements in alternate energy systems. Together, these have brought about
industry change to a small, though significant, degree. However, further reaching change is required
and now, with recent developments, it is a reality. For while technologies such as controlled battery
storage have been in existence for sometime, they are only now economically feasible on a mass scale.
Furthermore, the regulatory climate has only recently become amenable to these devices within the broader
utility system. The overall end result of this is that it is no longer necessary to build a 1000-megawatt
plant to exploit economies of scale in storage technology or the incentives of deregulation related to
it.
Distributed storage technologies then, which complement and enhance the existing electricity transmission
and distribution system and which at the same time demonstrably benefit their individual users, stand
to play a significant role in the changing landscape of the nation's electrical system. In this new arena,
Gaia will lead the industry from the outset.
Gaia will create a new standard of leadership in distributed energy solutions by developing market driven
products and by partnering with energy providers from solar installers to fuel cell developers and large
scale utilities that will enable us to be the largest independent distributed power enabler by 2010 as
measured by market capitalization.

Gaia's values not only help shape our vision and guide our mission, they are also direct reflections
of both who we are as individuals, and how we fit together as a dedicated, energetic and enthusiastic
team. They are:
Whole hearted belief in the Gaia mission - Vision, mission and strategy are to be understood and
pursued by all employees relentlessly.
Aggressive growth - The strive for profitable global growth is to be continual, with the goal
being to make Gaia as recognizable as Starbucks and electricity storage as familiar as coffee. Individuals
and teams will be rewarded based on performance and contributions only.
Customer focus - Customers are to be treated as partners and products are to be developed to help
solve their power problems. Remember that we only exist because we create value for our customers.
High quality and continuous improvement - To continuously excel and improve all aspects of the
company from research to development to sales is to be of paramount importance. Put quality above anything
that drives the products-never cut corners. Strive for continuous improvement not cost cutting.
Bias for action - Bureaucracy and its organizational layers and procedures are to be strenuously
resisted. Hold individuals accountable for their decisions and have a "can do attitude" by all. See change
as an opportunity, not an enemy; be flexible and take initiative. Mistakes are experiences from which
one can learn and bring a positive attitude. Be open to feedback, be wary of complacency.
Honesty - The truth is always to be told and practiced, regardless of outcome.

Put people first above everything - The success of Gaia comes and will continue to come from a
focus on people and teamwork. Treat all individuals with respect and dignity; egos, arrogance, and bitterness
are to be left behind and have no place in the company. Above all, remember that creating a market and
leading a growing industry can be very, very fun.
