Bige Doruk, Founder, Chief Executive Officer & President
Ms. Doruk's expertise includes extensive business development in start-up companies, management consulting, product development and engineering. At business-to-business market companies E-Steel and CITADON, she was responsible for business development, strategy and M&A. As an associate partner at Helios Consulting and a senior manager at McKinsey & Co., Inc., Ms. Doruk focused on developing strategies for a wide range of Fortune 500 companies, especially in high-tech industries. Prior to McKinsey, she was an operations manager at Solvay Polymers where she oversaw production at a $500 million polyethylene unit. She holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M's Energy Management Center and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Ib Olsen, Founder, Chief Technical
Officer, Vice President
Dr. Olsen has spent the last 13 years working on various aspects of advanced battery and fuel cell development, including scale-up and commercialization of battery-related products in a Fortune 500 company and two successful start-ups. He has led a variety of projects and has been responsible for overseeing several U.S. government contracts. Dr. Olsen's work in the battery and fuel cell field has garnered him more than 50 patents. He is also the author of numerous papers on the topic. Dr. Olsen holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Odense in Denmark and a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Engineering Academy , also in Denmark.
Antony Hom, Chief Financial Officer and Controller
Mr. Hom is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst. He has previously served as a financial corporate-level controller and business-level expense controller at Citigroup and Merrill Lynch and was an auditor and tax accountant with one of the “Big 6” public accounting firms. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Stern School at New York University and Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mateo Jaramillo, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Jaramillo brings a product marketing and business development background to Gaia from the startup software world where he oversaw the development and deployment of multiple products for various companies including one of the largest iTV companies in the world. He has an AB in Economics from Harvard and an MTS from Yale.
Matthew Johnson, Director of Marketing and Business Development
Mr. Johnson is an experienced energy technology professional who joined Gaia after four years in distributed energy technology consulting. At Gaia, Mr. Johnson manages business development, including development of strategic partnerships and building Gaia’s distributor network. He also leads the company’s government relations efforts. Prior to joining Gaia he was an Assistant Vice President at Sentech, Inc., where he managed the company’s Electricity and Distributed Generation consulting practice and became an expert in market and regulatory analysis for distributed generation technologies. Mr. Johnson has a BA in History and Public Policy from the University of North Carolina, and an MBA and MS in Natural Resources from the University of Michigan.
David Wohst, Director of Sales
Mr. Wohst brings a sales, finance and management background to Gaia from the commercial/retail banking field where he served as a small business specialist, AVP and Manager at North Fork Bank and Commerce Bank. Mr. Wohst has a BA in Political Science from Gettysburg College and over 10 year experience in sales/business development.
